In pre colonial Mexico, TANGAXOAN II, King of the Tarascan Empire (executed by Spanish Conquistadores) vows to return from the grave if his people are mistreated. Five hundred years later a young, Mexican boy named FRANCISCO, direct descendant of the King, runs away from his abusive uncle CARLOS and his ranch home to find a better life. Unknown to the boy, at the time, his uncle has been looting the tomb of his ancient ancestor and has awoken the King's spirit. The ghost of the King becomes a guardian angel to the boy, helping him to reach the home of his cousins ESTEBAN and MARIA. Unbeknownst to Francisco, however, Esteban is helping Carlos to sell treasures looted from the tomb of the King. To the dismay of Maria, Esteban informs Carlos of the whereabouts of Francisco. |
Seeking retribution on the boy and fearing that he will divulge secrets of the ranch, Carlos goes to the cousins and takes the boy to a place where he can silence him forever. Along the way they are followed by thugs hired by a collector to find the source of the treasures. A confrontation with the thugs leaves the uncle dead. Francisco, with help from his cousins and the ghost of the King, barely escapes with his life. Back on the ranch Francisco learns of his true family and is united with his mother, CARMINE, and little sister PALOMA. |
